First impression is everything. Whenever we meet a person we look at their faces and eyes. The PC inside you (I meant the brain!!) stores so much information on the people we mee. So how can you not have a photo on your profile. I have to stress that you must have at least a single photo of yourself if you want to be successful in the game of online dating. This can be proven by researches done on internet dating. If the girls like your picture more the chance that they will contact you. On the other hand if they don’t like your picture…. you know what happens!
Adding a photo to your profile is about self confidence. Most people are reluctant to post pictures of themselves as they think that they are not photogenic. Posting a photo means you are not worried about your looks and you accept your looks as they are. If your imaging equipment is broken you must find, hire, use your friend’s to get a picture on your profile.
Having a digital camera is an excellent idea. It cuts the costs (though the initial cost is high!!) and will keep your profile upto date. You can use this to take pictures as much as you want and to add only the ones you want. But keep in mind that you should only post the photos that looks like you, you must not look like Arnold Schwazeneger!! Photos taken 10 years ago are disaster as you are not projecting the truth about yourself. This avoids disappointments in real life meetings.
This also means fooling yourselves. What will happen if someone really loves you and go through the pains of arranging a perfect meeting, to find out that you are not the one on the pictures? It spells disaster. Fooling others means fooling yourself.
Use recent pictures of yourself, not what you looked like 10 years ago. Photo profiles are all about physical attraction. If someone likes to look at you, they like your looks. But don’t blame them if they don’t coz they are not interested in you.
Don’t use photos of models or actors as people know who they are. This also shows how unconfident of you are of yourself. Don’t expect many people to contact you. There are enough pictures out there of models and actors. Girls don’t want that. They want to see YOU! So give them what they want. Satisfy their curiosity and quench the thirst by presenting them with real, natural ‘YOU’.
Smile is a critical factor on photo profiles. We always gets attracted to smiles in the real world. Other looks are also OK but give a good thought to what you are going to promote. Try posting few photos and wait for the results. If ‘no mail’, try changing the pictures pictures till you get it right.
